Every year, the "Saxion Hogeschool" in Enschede, the Netherlands, puts on an "International Project Week" in which several hundred students from the Netherlands join forces with students from partner universities to work on specific interdisciplinary projects from the industrial sector. The students making up the project groups come from different countries, are enrolled in different courses of study – especially in the area of engineering – and have been studying for different amounts of time. Each project task is worked on by two competing teams, who present their results to the people who gave them the assignment at the end of the week. The working language for everyone is English. The best teams receive prizes.
In addition to the project work, the event focuses on experience, teamwork and cultural exchange.
htw saar sends 25-30 students to the contest, who always tackle the projects enthusiastically while having fun.
